Sometimes Power Locks Dont Work On One Door

If one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be a blown fuse.

Sometimes power locks dont work on one door.

A fuse is blown. Replace the key fob. The power door locks are all inoperative or a single door lock is inoperative. The switch provides power to the door lock solenoids.

Replacing the fuse will correct the problem. Note though that some types of intermittent failures can be extremely challenging even for professional technicians to find and repair so if an intermittent fault is suspected repeat all resistance and continuity tests on all wiring while vigorously wiggling the wiring until the fault is found and repaired. To lock the doors the switch provides voltage to the two terminals of the solenoid. The power door locks utilize individual solenoids in each of the doors that activate the door lock mechanism.

This is a cheap and easy fix. Diagnose those early power door locks start by checking the fuse. You don t want to be kicking yourself later because you missed something so obvious. And although you expect things like your power door locks to work without fail that isn t always the case.

Then check for power at each door switch. Inside each of your car s doors is a hard working motor that locks and unlocks them with each push of a button. Replacing it may require removing the car door panel. If one or more power door locks fail intermittently the cause is almost always bad electrical connections.

Go to a dealer and they will. If you seen battery voltage operated the switch and check for power coming into the control coil on either the lock or unlock relay. The solenoid is bad. Again if one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be with the door lock solenoid.

If that doesn t solve the problem you may have a faulty key fob.
